Ten children are going to Colorado and EARTHcamp
thanks to the kindness and vision of two organizations.
Tallahassee FL, June 2007 -
The Spirit of a Child Foundation and Urban Promise USA of Camden, New Jersey have teamed up to provide ten special children and their parents a chance to grow and discover themselves outside of their difficult urban environment. And, what a better way than to experience "Rocky Mountain High in Colorado" at John Denver's Windstar Foundtaion, EARTHcamp!
Spirit of a Child Foundation's 2nd Annual Summer 2007 Parent-Child Project in Old Snowmass, Colorado, June 29 through July 2 provides the opportunity for a parent and child to get away from it all. A weekend spent participating in an active, creative and hands-on curriculum of science, games, visual & theater arts, and music. Each day jam-packed with incredible fun and extraordinary opportunities to explore the beautiful Windstar Land Conservancy. A place where no other issues other than the pure freedom to express their love for one another. To put it simply, it's a weekend all about them.

The Spirit of a Child Foundation is a growing voice for our most vulnerable citizens—children. We strongly believe that children are life's most precious gifts and that their childhood should be filled with joy, laughter, and a future filled with possibilities. The root to a healthy child is to nurture their inner spirit with time, presence, gentle encouragement, and plenty of love. Through our funding, programs, and partnerships, we focus on issues not currently or adequately addressed by government programs. We help established organizations provide the necessary tools and valuable knowledge for parents to love their children and help them understand the importance of developing a strong family unit. Tools that give parents the ability to articulate and create a nurturing bond between themselves and their children. One that ultimately will last a lifetime.
