Holiday Coat Drive
Hope: Lost & Found

  Hope: Lost & Found Update

THOUSANDS of families in the Gulf Coast remain homeless and “temporarily” housed in tents and trailers while awaiting insurance claims to be answered and their homes and communities to be rebuilt. There is an immediate and desperate need for coats and winter clothing to help them bundle up and weather the winter season already upon them.

Waveland, Mississippi, was one of the hardest hit cities in the area leveled by a 37-foot wave surge generated by Hurricane Katrina. The Spirit of a Child Foundation is one of several non-profit organizations who have focused their relief efforts in Waveland, and while delivering basic necessities on Thanksgiving, were made aware of this imperative need.
